So today I’m reading this slamjob on IMDB, another one for the ‘ol ‘Worst Movie Ever’ stack, some poor fella in Sweden who must’ve spilled his hot chocolate this morning and I’m all like, “Dang…ain’t Sweden supposed to be neutral?” Kinda morose and kicking myself a bit. Magnolia Pictures, the venerable indie house that brought us No End In Sight, Dynamite Warrior, The Signal and more more more, has announced the creation of Magnet, a new label that will specialize in “the vanguard of Horror, Action, Comedy, and Asian Cinema.”

…for that’s about all the French I know. Which I am ashamed of, given how much I’ve enjoyed their fries over the years.

Sep 7 is a Canadian site that posted a review from our Fantasia screening. Because it’s written in elegant Francois, and because I am a  fat solipsistic American, I turned to my Parisian associate Mr. Jordan Mintzer to help me sort it all out. (In addition to being bi-, and perhaps even tri-lingual, Jordan also produced one of the best received true indie films of last year, Matt Porterfield’s Hamilton, which you should absolutely go see, especially after this summer’s parade of billion-dollar bullshit spectacles.)
