MURDER PARTY is horny for DreamLogic.net!

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

DreamLogic.net is the brainchild (lovechild?) of culture savvy West Coast soulmates Chris Nelson and Kris Kobayashi-Nelson.It’s full to poppin’ with reviews and news for all things movie-, music-, and even restaurant related! How cool is that? You can pick a flick and a spot to eat afterwards with one easy click of the mouse!

And here’s what they had to say about Murder Party:

CANNES MAIN EVENT: Seinfeld’s ‘Bee Movie’ vs. Saulnier’s ‘Murder Party!’

Friday, May 18th, 2007

(in the voice of the Warden from The Shawshank Redemption): “Ohhh, I’m sorry…was I being obtuse?”

Okay. Yes. The wording on that headline is a little misleading. Sue me.

Although Murder Party is not technically screening at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, it is a gospel-true fact  that our Party is being sold at the Cannes International Film Market (taking place directly adjacent to Pam Anderson’s autograph kiosk) from May the 16th through May the 26th!! Hell yes!!

Screen Media Ventures is the international distribution company that has oh-so-cannily smelled the potential for making some frogskins* off of Chris Sharp horsing around in a cardboard knight costume for an hour and a half, so let’s prove ‘em true, all you non-U.S. Territories! (I’m looking at you, Germany!) Buy, buy, buy!

Dig it: this Party is funday bloody funday in any language!

Check it: this Party’s passport is accepted anyplace people like cool flicks!

Uh-oh:  this Party’s now a global citizen! Ambassador of gore! Diplomat of rockin’ good times!

And check back here soon for a peek the phantasmagorical international poster that Screen Media whipped up for us! Those guys are some mad scientists after our own hearts and we love ‘em!

Peace.

(Make that world peace, baby.)

* here’s a hint: it’s green and it spends!

“I have no son!” (M.P. at the Maryland Film Festival)

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

The good news is that John Waters came to our screening and he seemed to dig the Party! The bad news…or rather, the horribly uncomfortable news is that so did many of our parents.

Anal sex? Check. Rampant drug abuse? Check. Near fetishistic use of the word ‘dildo’? Check. Boobs, needles, and blood? Check, check, and check. As Jeremy’s mother wondered aloud: “What happened to fourteen years of Catholic education?”

No, seriously, though: our folks love us and despite being (rightly) terrified of William Lacey after watching the movie, they were all caught up in the spirit of the night and having a fun ol’ time. A gang of kids from Virginia drove up in a stretch Humvee limo for the screening cuz why? Cuz the Lab rolls classy, that’s why.

Bottom line: Murder Party has the best families and friends in the world and we thank them from the bottom of our morally decrepit hearts.

Special thanks to our main man Skizz and the rest of the staff at the Maryland Film Festival who did such a fantastic job, as always! Huzzah!

Next stop: San Franbitchin’ in June for Another Hole in the Head!

MURDER PARTY has Another Hole in the Head…

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

…but that’s a good thing!! Check it out:

Another Hole in the Head is a presentation of the San Francisco Indiefest and they have selected Murder Party to screen alongside the creamiest cream of the independent horror/fantasy/sci-fi crop!

So if you’re in the Bay Area and you’re NOT the still-at-large Zodiac, please come on out and watch us get trepanated!

M.P. has two screenings at the suh-suh-sexxxy Roxie Theater: June 1st at 9:30pm and June 11th at 7:15pm. We’re screening with Paul Campion’s Night of the Hell Hamsters, which we have not yet seen but, Jesus Christ, dig that title: how could it not be totally fucking awesome?

And while you’re at it, go see Blood Car and thank me later! And when you’re done there, maybe gulp a few peyote buttons and get weird with Bill Plympton’s Plymptoons!

Hope to see all you  left coast Lab kids there! Here’s a link…
